Great win

Wisconsin might be sucking lately but it was still a strong win. Pound, pound, and pound some ’mo.

Great game.

Even with Wisky struggling. We came out of halftime totally flat. Wisky started moving the ball on us…then BAM SG goes beast. Whole game changes.

As long as Stanzi keeps with the decent numbers and lack of turn overs we are going to win 3 out of the next 4. I still don’t think we can keep up with Penn State.

My only thought

Am I the only one who thinks Bielema is a bitch for kicking it onsides when Wisconsin was down 19? I think the dude is trying to be the most hated coach in the Big 10. Anybody else feel that way?

you may be the only one

Nothing wrong with doing what he was doing. Competators compete. It’s to be expected

Difference

Between competition and playing cheap. No way Wisconsin could’ve won at that point, so it was more for show than anything else IMO. But I hear your point.

I'm ok with that

Practice for them in case they need it later in the season. And for us covering it.

Why not try?

I guarantee you neither coach gives a fuck what you think.

clarification

I mean “you” as in "we, all of us, the hoi polloi, not you specifically while they revere my opinion.

Probably.

If anyone gets the" eff-u, coach" look it’s Ferentz when he kicks the field goal when we’re up by 19. That surprised me. But these are all scrimmages boys. These coaches are preparing to play the One Perfect Game. We work on stuff we don’t need to work on in order to win. At times, we work on stuff that we shouldn’t work on, IF we want to win. So Trent needed the rep. He’ll be needed when we call on him in the One Perfect Game.

Nah

He’s not a bitch for the onsides kick. He might be for whining after the game, though. According to Eric Page, Bielema claimed that there were a number of plays where Wisconsin only had 10 players on the field, including the blocked punt. I know for a fact that is bullshit as I recorded the game, and after reading that, went back and counted the Wisconsin players just before the snap, three times to be sure. There were 11. I’m not saying Wisconsin played a flawless game out there (just the opposite in fact), but Bielema’s attempt to spin a big play as only the result of a huge Wisconsin mistake struck me as a bit classless.

That's very strange.

Presumably, some cub reporter will also go to the videotape. Thanks for doing this. It’s a scoop!

I think Bielema has an ugly, finger-pointing side. I seems he now has to fabricate his assistants’ deficiencies, in order to point them out. We’ve all worked for a sociopath like that at one time or another. They don’t last.

But just making things up: this is not good for the Badgers. It’s easy to tell when your coach has come unglued. And with Bielema, all the other personal qualities that otherwise would raise eyebrows now start to come into clearer focus.

Ummm...

I’m no expert, but isn’t it ultimately the coaches job to make sure the proper number of players are on the field?
All I’m saying is, even if that was what happened, it would still be his fault.

Coolest part about the game yesterday...

After Greene’s fourth TD they played “Jump Around” over the speaker system. I love mocking traditions.

by Argulor on Oct 19, 2008 5:44 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

Did they seriously play "jump around?" b/c that's an A-1 dick move.

And I would love it. I just want to make sure it’s true before I giggle too much about it.

by indyhawk on Oct 19, 2008 8:30 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

It's true

Of course, it did seem to inspire Wisky as they proceeded to drive down the field and score the TD on that drive.

Actually

If it was after Greene’s last TD, then they proceeded to almost immediately throw an INT to Angerer

But, you know, it was an inspired INT.

by NorseHawk on Oct 19, 2008 9:31 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

The timing of it was just a bit off, though.

It could only last about 15 seconds before the play started, and people were just beginning to laugh and get into it when they had to stop playing it.

But it was GREAT while it lasted, a real “F-you and the Badger you rode in” on kind of moment.

If it's not too much trouble, search your soul--and then ask yourself if maybe I might have a point.
