I watched this instead of dozing

at a deposition. (No, I wasn’t being deposed. That’s tomorrow.) So, like, obviously, I couldn’t have the sound on. Didn’t matter. I got a lot of dirty looks from the JD crowd for the uncontrolled chortles. Wait, I’m still thin, I don’t chortle.

Grunts?

Harummphs?

Involuntary half-sneezes, quickly suppressed? Yeah, that’s it.

This is really funny.

But no one noticed the stunned silence, pallor, and obeisance of the Nazi peanut gallery, and realized — IT’S A LOT LIKE AN IOWA FOOTBALL PRESS CONFERENCE. Except there’s no Bob Brooks hanging about.

I’m free. I don’t expect them to win. Most of ’em are good guys and the coach loves his wife. Whatever happens, cool.

I would think we might draw the line, though, on the Pol Pot Iowa football video. Can we? Perhaps we can just exclude mass murderers post-1960, say. Mass murderers from our lifetime. I know, mine started earlier, but still.

When we win again? The photo montage from …. Black Hawk Down. That Delta dude going back out in the morning. That would be Iowa, soon, I hope: sun is up again, and I’m a just looking for some action. Possible?
