Baby steps
Everyone starts where they are.
Everyone starts where they are. And I are bold enough to write a freeking blog (well a diary). It reminds me of the time I jumped into the Atlantic Ocean.... never mind ...................- (I punched the Ocean)
This may not be good, as I said yesterday and so it is...I started doing something that my mother would be very proud of ...I stopped to think. And think and think and I walked into the kitchen pulled out a box of Cereal and walked back upstairs to the master bathroom and proceeded to take a shower with the box in my hand. I was thinking about WTF I could write that would be of interest to a Hawkeye fan.
I'll be a cynic, a fan boy, a clown, and philosopher and if I should be so bold as to post after midnight on the weekend, I'll write a lot of nonsense.
One of the great things about living outside of Iowa is that I get modest amount of Iowa information and that which I get, I seek. Inevitably this leads to some semblance realistic expectations. I'll never forget the time, late at night; I was listening to Jim Zabel on Sound Off and a young boy called in.
Jim: Ok..We have David calling from Mason City ! Go ahead David !
David: Uh Hi!
Jim: What's going on in Mason City David!
David: not much
Jim: Do you have a question?
David: I just wanted to ask you what round you think Matt Sherman will be drafted in.
Jim: (I forget)
Which leads me to Ken O’Keefe. I don't think that he's so bad, on balance. This year I asked a lot of pointed questions to my TV some 900 miles away from the stadium. But on balance I don't have a problem with the specific plays that he runs. Here's the deal, you don't judge the wisdom of a specific call based on whether it works or not. Instead you ask, does this type of play make sense given the defensive alignment, down, distance and personnel?
Against MSU, I called that reverse in OT to DJK. It didn't work but guess what I called it. And you know what - they went back to it a few plays later. It made sense.
Response to those who defend Ken
OK now I’m frustrated. I could not figure out how in the world to navigate this site and now I'm trying to be cool and post a most apt picture in the middle of my thingy and I don't see how to do it. So I have this link above - would have been much more glamorous to just have a photo like the big boys do.

It takes a strong man
to shower with a box of cereal in hand.
May I inquire what kind? If you say Honet Nut Cheerios we will reward you with 5 (five) BlackHeartGoldBucks.*
Oh, and it's too big to post in a comment, but here's a link to the picture:

Good choice.

I thought we agreed
the only recognized currency here is BlackHeartGoldBars. BlackHeartGoldBucks were a Jefferson Davis-inspired confederate currency which is never to be mentioned again, just like the Reconstruction and Julius Michalik.
