Around SBN: Dissecting Nick Diaz's Positive Drug Test

OPEN THREAD: IOWA VS DIRECTIONAL ILLINOIS

Elvis made a comeback, too.

The Hawkeyes are playing right now in the Hawkeye Challenge Consolation Champsionship Game (this is seriously how they billed it on the telecast). Let's keep an eye on our boys and see how they respond with a quick turnaround from a horrible loss when they were winning by 16 and ended up losing in OT.
Comeback like Elvis, boys.

Oh... and GO, BIG BOY!!!

damn

I love this Jarryd Cole kid. He looks like Antonio Gates, only bigger. I like a true freshman who just comes in and goes to work. He'll fit in nicely in the Big 10 for the next 4 years.

also

J.R. Angle still stinks. He just seems lost all the time and he's been playing D-I ball for 3 years now. Come on, J.R., eventually, it's on you to do something.

Adoptions

We know JHC adopted Gornography earlier. I'll toss my support for Cyrus "the Virus" Tate in too.

I'm Like Angelina Fucking Jolie

I'll adopt Justin Johnson.  I always have a soft spot for a streaky-shooting guard who repeatedly turns it over.  And when Tony Freeman injured, Johnson's all I got.

well...

I think she actually adopts kids to match her outfits... but it's cool. At least he's US American and he's not from such as like the Iraq or the South Africa.

Nice

That first 6 minutes of the 2nd half? That's Lickliter basketball and that's the best they've played all year.

and another thing
Looby is learning to play basketball. He's no longer just an athlete out there. He's learning to play the game.
Just imagine, he has the experience you had with the game when you were about 8. This guy can be good, really fucking good.

Amen to that

Stick boy has certainly become stick man.

Wannstache
FYI for those of you watching basketball, the Wannstache and Boomer Sooner have sent the BCS into the inevitable downward spiral of death and destruction.

Pitt knocks off WVU 13-9.  Oklahoma is up 35-17 with 10:00 to go.  The world has turned and left me here, where OSU will play someone who has lost twice (or Kansas) for a national championship.  Pardon me while I rip my eyes out with a wooden spoon.

Elvis ARON Presley

FYI, for whoever made that poster of Elvis, his middle name only has one 'r' in it.

And yes, I'm horrible ashamed I know this. Even his tombstone, I recall, has it spelled wrong.

Bye.

If it's not too much trouble, search your soul--and then ask yourself if maybe I might have a point.

Oops--one 'A'

It's late and I'm getting tired. One 'A', not one 'R.'

It's Aron, not Aaron.

OK bye.

If it's not too much trouble, search your soul--and then ask yourself if maybe I might have a point.

Viva Loss Vayguss...

I have to say that I really don't think it reflects negatively on those who "misspell" Elvis's middle name as much as it reflects negatively on his very clearly functionally retarded parents.  Long live the south.

by Bucketochicken on Dec 2, 2007 12:04 PM CST up reply actions

nope, two "a"s

Gladys intended for one "A", to match his brother, but when Elvis went to legally change it, he found that the doctor had made a mistake on his birth certificate and he was legally Elvis Aaron. It's on his gravemarker that way and that's the way he wanted it and, really, we should always err on the side of Elvis' wishes.

And Director? I was 5 months old when he died, I've been to Graceland several times, I've eaten fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches and January 8 & August 16 are holidays in my home.

Sir, there is no shame when it comes to the King of Rock & Roll.

Well
I'm glad that's settled.
