Iowa vs. the World: Saturday Open Thread
Today we should find out if Iowa gets a bowl bid, Ohio State gets a chance to play for the National Championship, and Illinois goes to the Rose Bowl. If all those three happen, we're only days from the plagues of locusts.

Your Wednesday weather report if ZookHook gets to Pasadena
I've got Mizzou +3, Rocky Top +7, Virginia Tech - 4 1/2, and Arizona + 6 1/2. And Lou Holtz did his magic trick last night to fire up the Pitt Panthers (I'm looking for the video), so I'm taking Wf'nVA - 28 1/2.
It's our last chance to watch football for about three weeks. Anyone want to join us?

Pam Ward, 11:00 Tiebreaker
MAC Championship: Miami (OH), who lost to Minnesota, plays Central Michigan, who would probably beat Iowa. Pam Ward is involved.
Conference USA Championship: Central Florida vs. Tulsa. No Pam Ward.
I'm taking MAC, just for comedic potential.
Oh, and Central Michigan (- 3) would have been the best bet on the sheet had I gotten out of bed in time to beat the 10:00 kickoff.
8 Mile
Pam Ward just asked Ray Bentley if he enjoyed 8 Mile.
Bentley: "Yeah, that was a great film." Five bucks says Bentley couldn't pick Eminem out of a lineup.
Yep, MAC was the right choice.

Resumes
If UCF wins the Conference USA championship, how will George O'Leary describe it on his resume? National Championship? Super Bowl victory? Victory in Stalingrad?
Michigan Kremlinology Update
ESPN was reporting Miles to Michigan. Other sources are saying not so fast. We should know something by mid-afternoon. As in, just before LSU kicks off against Tennessee. Oh, and Pellini is going to Lincoln. Distractions, distractions. UT money line is looking awfully tempting now.
Also,
If anyone has Mediacom and wants to see the only positive football story in the whole state this year, I think the UNI game is on the connections channel at 1.

DirecTV
For those of you with the DirecTV sports package, UNI/Delaware is on Madison Square Garden, channel 626. This, of course, means there is a strong possibility they will cut away from coverage of the game to report Isiah's next alleged harassment or the shit Starbury has on his coach.
ESPN Stands for Journalistic Integrity
This morning, ESPN was reporting Miles to Michigan like it was gospel.
Now? They've pulled the video.
Dan Patrick is rolling in his grave.
Boomer
Boomer Esiason is doing his best to ruin the Army/Navy game. He can't go five minutes without mentioning Tom Brady or Peyton Manning. I'm entirely convinced he hasn't actually watched a college football game this year.
Seeing as how Boomer isn't able to describe the triple option without telling us how Peyton Manning would run it, do you think he randomly drops a Brady or Manning into other inappropriate situations? While making love to his wife, does he tell her how Tom Brady would do it? Rampant speculation, anyone?
UNI up 10-0
If you can, I'd really suggest watching this game. UNI is a blast to watch.

Damn you, Adam
I'm on a one-hour delay. Now I know what happened for that first hour. Thanks a lot, jackass.
Oh, and go Panthers.
Very good
Delaware, for those of you who missed the story on ESPN a few months back, is the team that never got around to scheduling their in-state friends at Delaware State, a school that just so happens to be historically black. The DSU AD has been screaming for years that he'll make the game happen whenever Delaware wants, but whoops, the Blue Hens just never got around to it. The two teams finally met in the playoffs last week, and Delaware crushed DSU.
Put it like this: That dog thinks Delaware is just doing what's right.
Craig James
On the VT/BC halftime, Craig James just said a Boomer Sooner win would "create a cobweb of worms." I don't even know how to respond.
Mitt Romney Ad
I just noticed we're occasionally running a Mitt Romney ad at the top of the screen. Probably a good opportunity to state the obvious: We have no control over the ads, and we endorse nothing advertised here. Except Busted Tees. Those are pretty damn funny.
19-13 Delaware at the half
UNI has blocked two extra points, but gave up a fumble returned for a TD late in the first half. Delaware is tough.
Now 20-19 UNI
Most of the UNI touchdown drive was off-air; the weather's terrible throughout the state.
20 points, of course, will not win this ballgame.
22-20 Delaware now
UNI's usually great offensive line is having some trouble in Pass protection, and Delaware's Joe Flacco is a really good QB.

UD scores, 29-20 Blue Hens.
The drive had about three or four incredible 3rd down conversions; UD is 11-16 on the day, and UNI is, I believe, 1-7.
29-20 now
UNI's defense looks like shit. They can't get off the field on 3rd down.

Well, shit
It's just not looking like UNI's day. I think That Dog's favorite team is going to end their season. I'm much sadder about that than I would have expected, I didn't realize how into UNI's season I was getting.

UD driving again
They stripped Andrews or Anderson or whatever the UNI QB's name is in the red zone, and they've just converted on 4th and inches inside the UNI 25.
This doesn't look good for the Panthers.
Sanders, his name is Sanders
Andrews? Really?
Anyway, they're driving right now, so if they can finally stop Delaware, the dream might still be alive!

You think you're so smart
Blah blah blah, I pay attention, blah blah blah.
Omar Cuff is killing UNI. That screen on 3rd and long is an absolute backbreaker.
And another first down. Time to start thinking about burning timeouts.
Ravens Commercials
The best part of watching UNI on MASN is this Ravens commercial where the Baltimore defense is reciting the chorus of the Talking Heads' "Life During Wartime" when most of them clearly have never heard the song. Of course, nobody would know more about being young, broke, and confused than Ray Lewis...
They've actually done a pretty good job
...keeping Cuff in check too. He's a ways below his season average. That 3rd and 11 was brutal, this defense has just been embarassing on 3rd and long. Complete choke job, particularly by a unit that was, statistically, the best defense in I-AA

Ballgame
I feel bad for Sanders and all the other seniors, this should have been UNI's year.

LSU
Tennessee's lack of offense is going to cost me money. I don't like losing money. Of course, I also don't like Tenne...FUMBLE! Good ole Rocky Top, Rocky Top Tennessee!
Oh, Rocky Top, you'll always be
Second in the SEC

BTN?
The Hawkeyes are playing in the consolation game right now on the BTN. Even though they lost, they're playing their game second. The title game was earlier.
That's how we do it in the IC, bitch!
