GAMEDAY OPEN THREAD: GIMME BACK MY PIG!

Sandy: I want you to kill every gopher on the golf course!
Carl Spackler: Correct me if I'm wrong Sandy, but if I kill all the golfers, they're gonna lock me up and throw away the key...
Sandy: Not golfers, you great fool! Gophers! The little brown, furry rodents !
Carl Spackler: We can do that; we don't even have to have a reason. All right, let's do the same thing, but with gophers !

Hey, Gophers? Let's fight! Maybe it is just a pig but it's our fucking pig, so give it back.
Let's talk football.
I'd be interested to hear what your thoughts are on the basketball season as well.
Go.

Let's get this moving

Far as the basketball team goes, I have BTN, watched the game, and I was very happy with what I saw.

  • We held them to 1-20 from 3pt range
  • Every shot was contested
  • They didn't get a point in the paint for the first 19 minutes
  • Looby has learned to play his position, he is more than just a shotblocker
  • Johnson can hit an open 3, which is nice
  • Peterson can hit an open 3, which is nice
  • Physically, Cole looks exactly like Antonio Gates
  • Lickliter is a teacher, not a talker, I would call this an upgrade at the head coaching position

This is fucking embarassing

Even if we win there's not a lot to like about this performance.  There's absolutely no reason we shouldn't be marching up and down the field of this defense, they've been a disaster all year.

Yeesh.

I watched the game at a nearby bar whose name I won't mention, purely out of courtesy.

Iowa... did not look so good today. I'll leave it at that for now.

Champs Sports is probably asking too much

With Illinois beating OSU and Wisconsing beating Michigan, I think the Insight bowl is probably the best we can hope for.
